Balthazar, the Incubus, appeared to her when she was a little girl and watched over her throughout her life. She eventually learned he knew her mother, but he refused to tell her who that was. She also found out he had a romance with her grandmother, one that ended with the human woman dying as history tells, but no other details were given. At 100 years old, a fire killed her two turned vampire friends. Distraught, Lisbeth decided to leave her life of luxury so she could travel the world. She couldn't deal with how callous the other vampires had become about death, and needed to find out how she felt about her own life, and who she truly was. Eager to set out, she met Olivier, a pirate princess who invited her along for an adventure, even if she thought Lisbeth was a priss. The two formed a small coven and traveled around Europe for a century. They met a vampire named Aaron Kelly, and Lisbeth was so lonely, she convinced herself she could be happy with him. One night, Lisbeth met a blonde vampire at a masquerade party and was instantly smitten with him, but Aaron stole her away before taking her on a hunt that resulted in their coven killing a child. Lisbeth was so distraught, she forgot all about meeting the vampire at the party, who later turned out to be Arthur Lancaster. That night she decided she would never harm a child ever again, and that hunting humans wasn't who she wanted to be. She went back home to the new Castle Order in America and established the human companion system so vampires wouldn't have to hunt anymore. Even though she was the second oldest vampire at her Order, she faded into the background inside her own home and became reclusive, partially from guilt, but also from loneliness. As long as Lisbeth has lived, she's never been in love, never found someone worth loving, and she has never had a family. |
