Dreya was conceived via invitro fertilization after her mother, Lisbeth, decided she needed to help re-build the vampire race by having a full-blooded vampire child. With a werewolf husband, that meant asking her trusted bodyguard, Arthur, to help her out. The two had fallen in love over twenty years before, but he rejected her feelings, leaving the two friends but nothing more.
When Dreya was still in the womb, an evil vampire named Alistair destroyed the world by releasing vampire drones on the human population, causing an irreversible apocalypse.
Separated from their older children, Arthur, Lisbeth, and her husband, Knight, were left to wander the country in search of their lost family. Dreya was born in the freezer of an abandoned gas station, and named after Alexander Locklear, who gave his life to save her parents before the apocalypse began.

In the new timeline, Dreya was conceived a second time using a potion the witches made for Lisbeth so her children would be brought back to her. The potion had unintended side effects when used on a vampire, making Lisbeth become pregnant with her first three children all at once.
New Dreya is a triplet, born at the same time as her sister, Kitty, and brother, Jason. All three have magically altered DNA, making them age rapidly, and giving them magical abilities. At five years old, the triplets were fully grown.
