Meredith was raised to be a paranormal hunter, one who kills all things paranormal, believing it will keep humans safe.

At age 17, she met two brothers, Lincoln and Axel, and fell deeply in love with them. When she turned 18, she received her first hunter tattoo, one that would let her sense paranormal beings. Her next meeting with Lincoln and Axel revealed the brothers were Lycans, and Meredith was distraught. She believed they had no idea what she was, and thought they wouldn't be able to love a hunter, so she left to think about things. Their father followed her home and informed her his sons wanted nothing to do with her, and he clawed her stomach as a warning for her to back off.
