A powerful Cerberus shifter, Felix grew up with both wealth and strength. His family were members of a secret order, tasked with guarding the Cave of Death. Felix took his duties seriously, and he, like the other guards, enjoyed spending time with the saber toothed lion that lived in the cave. He read all of the books that were in the room she guarded, books about necromancy.

Felix fell in love with one of the secret order guards, Sera, and the two became lovers. Sera eventually broke it off with him because they were never going to be serious, and she wanted that from him. She told him he would never make anyone happy, convincing him it was true, that even if he found his true mate, he was sure to screw it up and make her miserable.
Felix is a Cerberus, and he can only have children with his true mate. He knew Sera wasn't that, so he couldn't commit to a real relationship with her. Her rejection and cruel words resigned him to being alone for all eternity, and he ceased all romantic entanglements afterwards.
