Cole grew up the son of the most powerful wizard in existence, leading him to believe he could have whatever he wanted in life. He was the most popular boy at Highborn all through his school years, choosing only the most influential boys to be his friends and lovers.
His twin sister's friend, Jaz, lost her magic when they were 15, and he used that opportunity to humiliate her further by offering for her to stay at school as long as she serviced him and his friends. She refused, and left Highborn behind. A few years later, Alec Claus returned to Highborn, and Cole instantly wanted him for himself, but his sister, Candace, swooped in and stole him. Despite the fact that Alec started dating his sister, Cole wasn't about to give up. He stayed on the sidelines until Alec broke up with Candace, and swooped in to be Alec's hook-up boy.
