Marshall grew up in a small town named Oakridge. His father owned a landscaping business, and from a young age, Marshall believed the only way to make his father happy would be to join the family business. But as Marshall grew up, he gained a love of medicine and wanted to be a doctor. He left Oakridge behind and moved to Hanford to attend medical school, where he eventually met Casey West.
